Bill Buettner is a licensed real estate professional and co-owner of Black Tie Realty, bringing to the industry a career built on leadership, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to the people he serves.
Bill retired in 2019 as a Master Sergeant after 32 years with the Nebraska Army National Guard, including 17 years in full-time service. During that time he developed deep expertise in funds and fiscal management, transportation, supply and personnel management, records and information management, and senior leadership. He was deployed to Bosnia in support of NATO's peacekeeping mission, to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, to the Virgin Islands following Hurricane Maria, and to Nebraska in support of emergency management during the historic 2019 floods. He also earned certification as a Master Resilience Trainer, a formal designation for those trained to guide others through high-stress, high-stakes situations with clarity and steadiness. It is a skill set that translates directly to real estate.
Bill earned his real estate license in 2018 and joined Susan's team, working alongside her through two brokerages before they launched Black Tie Realty together in 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University, Summa Cum Laude, and the Graduate REALTOR® Institute designation. He works the way he always has: closely, deliberately, and with full attention to the person in front of him. He listens first, makes a plan, and works through it systematically until the job is done.
Bill is married to his high school sweetheart, Susan, and together they built Black Tie Realty on the same values they have lived by for 38 years. They share four daughters and three grandsons. Bill follows the Nebraska Huskers with the loyalty you would expect from a lifelong Nebraskan, travels whenever he can, and cherishes time with his grandsons.
